The Firetruck

The other day, we decided to take the kids for an ice cream cone. The local garden center up the street from our house has expanded and last year added a petting zoo and an ice cream shop. It's a great way to keep the kids busy while you shop for plants, shrubs, gardening supplies, etc. Well this year, they completely outdid themselves. They bought a fire truck. We had NO idea of this until we arrived (with two little boys wearing fire hats as usual) and Cole and Tommy almost started hyperventilating in the car. "FIRETRUCK!!! MOMMY!!! LOOK!!!! DADDY FIRETRUCK!!!"

Needless to say, this is going to become our newest hangout. The boys spent a good 45 minutes playing on the truck and could not even be lured away with promises of ice cream cones. We *eventually* got hot enough to need a cone. Here are some pictures...

Horse Whisperer

Saturday was the Spring Fair at Weir River Farm, so we took the kids to see all the animals. I love this place. The people who work the farm are wonderful and really get the kids excited about the farm. On Saturday, they had all the tractors out for the kids to climb on...there was sheep shearing...face painting...plant your own seeds...you name it! The weather was perfect.

I think I've mentioned before in previous posts, that Cole has some kind of *connection* with the horses. I am not kidding you! When he goes over to a horse, they are immediately interested in him. And it's not just one horse! Every horse at this farm reacts when Cole comes around. They will be hiding in their stalls, but when he walks up to say hello they come right out to greet him! Here are some pictures:

Tommy LOVES the animals and talks to them using the appropriate language. He "moos" at the cow and "oinks" at the pigs. It's just too funny. When the boys get older, the farm offers a wonderful program where the kids can go and help out with the animals. I think these guys will absolutely be involved. They just love it so much! We had a great morning. :)

CASE CLOSED

Look at those angelic faces!! Well folks, everyone voted and it appeared that there was an overwhelming feeling that the "Dynamic Duo Strikes Again"! So were you right?

Here is what really happened!

Tommy was on the prowl for adventure. He climbed into the unlocked pantry, slid himself over to the candy section and was able to unscrew and tip over the container of lollipops. Cole was searching for Tommy as he wanted to play fireman therefore toting TWO firehoses. When he found the bonanza he dropped the hoses...bent over (losing his backwards facing hat in the process) and started scooping up pops!

I only know what happened because I heard Cole yelling Tommy's name...saw him flash by me with two hoses...then there was SILENCE. Never a good thing around here!

So problem solved! Everyone was a little right here. The dynamic duo DID strike again, Cole does love his lollipops and this definitely had Tommy written all over it! Well done investigators!!!

It's a MYSTERY!!!

It's a whodunnit mystery! We came across this crime scene yesterday, yet no one seems to know who actually committed the crime. (Both boys have proclaimed their innocence.) Being that Kevin and I have both watched CSI a few times, we felt qualified enough to attempt solving the mystery. Here is a photograph of the crime scene.

Hmmm...this is a toughie! I guess the question is...which way is the fire hat facing? And was the suspect carrying two hoses? Or was there an accomplice? We know the answer...can you figure it out?

My Angelic Boys

Oh my sweet little boys! They always drift right off to sleep so easily. Never make a peep up in their room. I love going upstairs and peeking in to see them sleeping like angels....
