It's a MYSTERY!!!

It's a whodunnit mystery! We came across this crime scene yesterday, yet no one seems to know who actually committed the crime. (Both boys have proclaimed their innocence.) Being that Kevin and I have both watched CSI a few times, we felt qualified enough to attempt solving the mystery. Here is a photograph of the crime scene.

Hmmm...this is a toughie! I guess the question is...which way is the fire hat facing? And was the suspect carrying two hoses? Or was there an accomplice? We know the answer...can you figure it out?

My Angelic Boys

Oh my sweet little boys! They always drift right off to sleep so easily. Never make a peep up in their room. I love going upstairs and peeking in to see them sleeping like angels....

A Lesson in "One"

In a funny conversation last week, we realized that the boys thought that there was two of everyone. They see another version of themselves in each other...so they somehow thought there was two of everyone else. Cole said, "There are two Cole's and two Tommy's!" It's easy to see why he thought that way!

We had a long conversation (well SEVERAL conversations) about how there is only "one" of everyone. So now that is their favorite thing to list at night. We have to go through EVERYONE they know...which can take awhile. "There is one Cole, one Tommy, one Mommy, one Daddy, one Nana, one Papa, one Grandma, one Beth, one Joey, one Meredith, one Assley..." etc, etc.

Dramatic Flair

The boys couldn't be more different in terms of personality. Granted, they are both VERY silly and love to laugh...but where Cole likes numbers and is more laid back...Tommy is all about the drama in any situation. Take the slide for example. Here is a picture of Cole going down the slide:

I tried to get more photos, but he didn't want me to take any. He was too busy going down the slide and having fun.

Now here is Tommy:

He calls out to me when he is about to do something funny...then poses. My little Drama King!!!

Bye Auntie Meredith!!!

We miss you already! "Where did Meredith go? Meredith where are you?!?"

Auntie Meredith is SO much fun!!!

Auntie Meredith came for a visit this weekend and we're having a blast!! Between shows, ferry rides into Boston and the Aquarium today, it's been a lot of fun. :) Here are a few photos...more to come soon. Enjoy!

At the Aquarium this afternoon...

Tommy insisted on wearing his yellow rain coat today to the Aquarium. Hmm...might be a *bit* small, don't you think?

Taking the ferry into Boston! We walked through Fanueil Hall, the North End (hit Mike's Pastries...yum!) then had lunch before heading home. These guys were happy!!

Rolling, rolling, rolling...

I've always liked Bounty paper towels. With all the spills we have around here, these towels seem to work the best in our house. But did you know how many towels you actually GET on each roll? A lot!!! How do I know this??? See below...

This is part of a 15-pack of Bounty paper towels from the wholesale store. I say "part" because the other half rolled its way into the kitchen, around our island and into the bathroom. Here is the the path of towels I followed....

Not a roll left untouched...all in under 10 minutes while I was getting dressed. Pretty impressive stuff boys! Needless to say, that it took a lot longer to re-roll them than it did to unroll them. :) Happy Wednesday everyone!

Hide and Seek

This afternoon when they woke from naps, the boys wanted to play hide and seek. They found a pretty good hiding spot! Too bad their giggles gave them away. :)

They clearly think that this is an EXCELLENT hiding spot. When it was my turn to count again, this is where I found them.

And when I was "it" again? Here they were!!!

Curious George meets my monkeys!!!

We had the BEST weekend! Saturday, Beth and I took the boys to the Curious George exhibit at the Children's Museum in Boston. I surprised them that morning when they woke up, with special "tickets" for their day. They had bananas for breakfast while watching the new Curious George movie...then we jumped in the pre-packed car...picked up coffee, juice and MUNCHKINS...then picked up Beth before heading into the city. They were SO excited! Cole was chanting, "happy, happy, happy, I'm happy!" the whole way to pick up Beth. It was so cute.

The boys loved the museum and walked the whole morning. This may seem like no big deal...but for me? Having my two 2-year olds...listening, holding hands, walking and following direction was like hitting the lottery! After we had conquered all three levels, we walked over to the Barking Crab for lunch. Another huge success! We had to wait 15 minutes for the restaurant to even open, and these two were inquisitive, patient, funny...I was so proud.

Here are some pictures from our day. Enjoy!

Easter Slideshow

Here's a quick little slideshow from Easter. (It may look fuzzy during your first viewing. Try it a second time and the photos should come in clearer.) We took the boys to a Easter egg hunt at the country club on Saturday and after they hung out with their favorite friends, Sophie, Ella and Gavin. Sophie and Ella are identical, too and they are all infatuated with each other. The girls are always asking for the boys and vice versa. Tommy has a major crush on Sophie. I'm sure you can see why...they are super cute!!

Gavin is their best friend and when they get together they become the three amigos. :) Wrestling, tackling, chasing, playing trucks...you know...typical GUY stuff. I've thrown in some pictures from Easter morning as well. They LOVED their baskets and insisted that they had found "bunny foot prints" in the front hall. haha It was just a great day!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

20/20 x 2

This morning we took the boys to get their eyes checked. When they were babies, my pediatrician thought their eye color was unique enough to warrant a visit to the eye doctor. (They have blue/green eyes with thick brown streaks that start at the center and go to the outer edge - very cool!) Anyway, at that appointment, the doctor hinted that they *might* need glasses one day.

Today was the big check-up and the result? No glasses necessary! The boys have "perfect" vision according to the eye doctor. YAY! I had been trying to figure out HOW we would handle glasses with these two monkeys. Great news!!!

Two and a half!!!

I'm sitting here on the couch with my buddy Cole nestled up beside me watching Toy Story. They just woke up from naps. He said, "Come on mom! Sit here. (Pats the couch.) We'll watch Toy Story." Tommy settled in after a short discussion about why the Easter Bunny didn't come today.

I can't believe these guys are already 2.5. Where did the time go? I have to say, we are loving this age. We had an awesome day...much like any other. One filled with childhood wonder, imagination and activity.

Somedays, I want to freeze them in time. The other day, Tommy made a face and I just had a flashback to when he was a baby. It feels like yesterday! Where are my little squishy, pudgy babies with Michelin man thighs and giggles galore? They have grown into smart, imaginative, kind and loving boys who both start and end their day with laughter. We are blessed. I am so proud to be their mommy!

My brother, my friend

The boys NEEDED to get out after being cooped up with all the rain, so Kevin and I took the boys for a hike in Blue Hills this morning. They LOVED it!! We saw otters, ducks, deer and all kinds of huge birds at the outdoor museum at Trailside. Then we hiked until to a clearing and sat down on a great flat rock with amazing views for snacks. It is beautiful out today!

My favorite photo was one I captured of them holding hands while climbing the hill. It is awesome...I played around with some effects on it. But I am definitely printing the original to hang in the house. It just reminds me how special the bond is that twins share. I feel so lucky to be able to witness it!!

Funny...

So there was a gas leak outside of our house today. They didn't actually find it until nearly 5:00pm. The crews arrived around dinner time and we were informed that they would be digging for a good part of the night.

This is all well and good, except the digging was happening RIGHT outside of the boys bedroom and the workmen arrived with HUGE diggers complete with flashing lights and loud jack hammers. The boys went nuts! Kevin had to physically lay in bed with Cole and hold him down as he kept jumping up in his bed, leaning over to the window and pulling the curtains back and yelling, "Woah! Look! HUGE trucks!! DIGGERS!!!"

So funny! It is a miracle that they are sleeping right now. They are still digging away out there...

Can you guess???

Can you guess Tommy's favorite letter of the alphabet?
