Something Fishy! Our day at the Aquarium...

The day started with Cole saying, "Joe" for the first time. This was the PERFECT way to start off our trip with Uncle Joey to the New England Aquarium!! And it really set the tone for the rest of the day. From our ferry ride over reading books and eating Twizzlers....to the nice woman who gave us two FREE tickets (!!!) it just seemed like the day was already planned for us. We just showed up. :)

The kids loved playing with the starfish and crabs in the Edge of the Sea Touch Tank and running up and down the ramps surrounding the giant ocean tank full of every fish imagineable. Cole had several conversations with the penguins. (Who knew he spoke penguin?!?) But Joey and I both noted that Tommy was REALLY into the whole thing. He wanted to see and touch every exhibit.

After enjoying double lobsters sitting outside at Tia's...we learned our ferry home was delayed. No worries! We found a great playground right there on the waterfront where we could see the docks. We met a little boy who helped knock down the sand castles Uncle Joey was tirelessly creating. The little boy was quickly nicknamed "Bulldozer" and he seemed to take his role very seriously. When everyone had enough...our boat appeared and we jumped on for the relaxing ride home.

Overall, it was an amazing day. Tommy is clearly a budding Oceanographer...Cole is the Penguin Whisperer...and Joe and I had a blast watching these two curious little boys light up with every new experience.

Can you see the joy on our faces after getting free tickets just moments before?

The hands-on tank was definitely a highlight....

Cole was okay until the the fish got TOO close.

Thomas the Tank Engine

Today we took the boys to see Thomas the Tank Engine at Edaville Railroad. I was SO excited to take them as they are completely obsessed with Thomas right now. It was a really fun day! They had music playing throughout the park from the show...Sir Topham Hat was there...Thomas led the train around the park on a scenic ride through the cranberry bogs and there were lots of rides and trains for the kids to explore.

It was their first visit to an amusement park and they were taking it ALL in. Here are Kevin and Cole meeting Thomas before the ride.
The nice family sitting across from us took this photo. It was HOT at this point. A rare morning in our 40 days of rain...
There's Thomas chugging us around the park! He had a great whistle and lots of steam...boys loved that...
Checking out the sights.
After our ride we decided to check out the toddler roller coaster...Cole did not like the Jolly Caterpillar.
Mike's Italian Ice? HUGE hit.
Tommy...with his engine "Duck" in hand...was practically hugging this train. It was love!
Took this on our way out of the park...these little engines were definitely running out of steam!
They fell sound asleep on the way home. Well actually, Tommy fell asleep first...and Cole proceeded to throw things at his brother to try and wake him up to play. When he didn't get result he was after, he closed his eyes at last. :)

Daddy's Home!

There is nothing better than a "daddy sighting" out the window. Clearly Cole was very excited when Kevin pulled in the driveway. :)

Poll results...

Looks like most of you know your twins!! I do feel inclined to add that a few people (who will remain anonymous) changed their answer after viewing a video from our vacation in Chatham which gave the answer away. :) haha...

Glad everyone enjoyed the poll!

Playing with Daddy

Kevin came home last night after being away for a few days and the boys went crazy. They LOVE wrestling with daddy!! They were so funny trying to push him over...Cole was in hysterics for most of the night. :) By the time bedtime rolled around they were exhausted...

Tommy is so happy to see dada!

Crew Cuts

My mom and I took the boys to get hair cut today...they were seriously over due!! Poor Cole was waking up from his naps looking like a band member of Flock of Seagulls. :) They weren't super happy about it...but Jean (their hairstylist) did a great job and was super fast. Helicopters and Tootsie pops eased their sadness over the entire ordeal...as did lunch at Burtons! Here are some snap shots from lunch.

Beach Days

Our friends Pete and Carolyn have a beautiful summer house in Chatham. We've been talking about going forever and finally just decided to pack up one day and head out. They have the most amazing spot! Beautiful ocean views from their deck...a short stroll to the beach...it is Cape Cod at its finest! Here are some pictures from our visit to Chatham Light. I'll add more posts this week with photos from our trip. These are a little late in being posted...but there are just SO many great photos! Thanks Pete and Carolyn!!!

First Kiss!

Last night in the tub, the boys were having fun splashing around. I said, "Oh! You are such good pals! Do you love your brother Cole?" At that, Cole leaned over and kissed Tommy! It was SO CUTE. Then Tommy puckered up and kissed him back. My heart almost burst!! It was the first time they have ever shown that kind of affection to each other. Now...if they could only hug each other without tackling the other to the ground. Such boys... :)

WARNING TO ALL TODDLER MOMMIES!

Do not sleep in! Sleeping in may cause your toddlers to wreak havoc on an unsuspecting daddy. Daddy doesn't realize how calculating toddlers can be...especially when working in pairs!!

See "Exhibit A" below. Toddler #1 (Tommy) sneaks a marker past daddy and hands it off to Toddler #2 (Cole) who's talent as a grafitti artist is emerging at an early age.

Baby Robin Update!

For those of you who expressed interest in our little birds nest, these 5 little robins are really getting big! It's amazing how much they have changed in one week. They have LOTS of feathers (sticking up every which way...so cute) and they are starting to chirp and clean themselves when mom isn't around. Their appetite is insatiable it seems. This poor mom is constantly on the hunt and feeding her brood.

These are pictures from today. The first two were taken this morning and the last one this afternoon. I *hope* we'll be able to see them learning to fly. Hmmm...maybe I should break out the video camera for that one. :) The boys are loving every minute. Babies and birds are two of their favorite things!

Rainy Day Bubbles

Seeing that today I was planning on washing the floor anyway, I pulled out the boys bubble machine for some unexpected fun. When they saw the bubbles blowing around INSIDE the kitchen, they were so funny. They laughed, danced and tried to catch them before they fell to the floor.

All this before 8am!!
