MAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He said it!!! Tommy said MAMA!! I am flying right now. I just gave the boys their tubs and was tucking them in when he just looked at me and said it. I got so excited and he started laughing and just kept saying it over and over. YAY! This really was the BEST day!!! Now just need to get it on video!!
He is babbling away in his crib right now...mama dada lala....he is so funny. Clearly proud of himself!

The Best Day!
Today, when the boys woke up from their nap, I packed a bag with toys, sippy cups and lunch and we headed to Cohasset for a nice long walk along the water. For those of you who don't know this already, Cohasset is a picturesque little New England town located right on the water. The homes here are spectacular...and its just such a pretty place to walk. The temperature was close to 80 with a nice breeze - it was gorgeous!
We walked along our favorite street admiring all of the beautiful homes, walked over bridges that crossed rapids and salt water jetties...and ended at the beach for lunch. The boys LOVED it. Tommy talked the whole way. (His new words this week are RaRa and LaLa -- but his FAVORITE is DaDa.) They were kicking their feet and "chatting" with each other. At one point I looked down through the little window to peek on them and they were holding hands! (They held hands like this for nearly 15 minutes.)

The highlight of the day was on our return walk when we encountered this amazing stretch of grass COVERED in American Flags. It was a tribute for Memorial Day...and just so beautiful. We watched them wave in the breeze from across the street...then I decided to just wheel the boys right into the center of all the flags so they could see them up close. They LOVED it! Cole laughed and squealed...Tommy was staring in wonder. It was really cool.

Overall it was just the perfect day. The boys had so much fun on our walk....and so did I!

Happy Memorial Day!
Here are some pictures from our weekend. It was VERY exciting! The boys went boating for the first time, took a dip in their own little pool and spent a lot of time outside enjoying the warm weather.
On Sunday, my parents took us into Boston harbor by boat, which is always beautiful. There was so much activity on the water! The Queen Mary 2 was docked in the city and we watched her sail out. At one point, several planes flew directly overhead as they descended into Logan. They were so close we were waving to the people on the planes!
The boys were wide-eyed taking it all in. Tommy especially. He was in awe of just about everything. Cole was struggling a little with his life vest. He was kind of sinking in it, so his poor little cheeks were smooshed. =) Within about 15 minutes, the rocking of the boat finally lulled them both to sleep and they were both out for the duration of the ride. They looked so comfy we all wanted to climb in the seats next to them! Thanks Nana and Grandpa...we had a great day!

Today the weather warmed to 80 degrees, so we decided to hang home by the pool and BBQ. It was time for my annual "Memorial Day Swim" and this year was no different than years past...the water was FREEZING!!! We decided to take out the boys little pool and fill it with water that was a little bit warmer. They loved it! So cute... They loved splashing and kicking in the water.
Overall it was an amazing long weekend. We're tanned, tired and full of good BBQ...somewhat ready to get back to the grind. =) Hope everyone had a safe and fun-filled Memorial Day!

Good eaters!
The boys are really getting into eating! They will try just about anything which is great. My mom taught the boys how to eat "puffs" and they are like manaics for them now. I can't even bring the container out where Cole can see it. He gets too excited! I had tried some teething biscuits last week from Wholefoods, but they weren't interested. Today I tried the Zwieback toast from Gerber...it was SO funny. They immediately devoured them. The messy faces...and the smiles... speak volumes!
Cheerios here we come!

Our first visit to the park!
My first Mother's Day
Sunday was Mother's Day...my very first. Kevin's family came over in the morning and we relaxed and had coffee before everyone packed up to head home. It is always hard saying goodbye to family...we just wish we all lived closer.
It was a warm day. So afterwards, we brought the boys outside...grabbed the paper...made two mimosas and relaxed for a few hours in the sun. The boys were chatty and happy...the sun was shining...the house looked remarkably good following the party and we just hung out as a family. My idea of a perfect day!
Happy belated Mother's Day to everyone!

Tommy and Cole's Christening
Tommy and Cole were Christened on Saturday in a private ceremony at our church. Our pastor, Fr. Quinn really made the ceremony special and the boys were adorable! They chatted, giggled and cooed....no tears. And my favorite moment was when they looked at each other, smiled and reached out their hands. So cute! It was perfect. Everyone came back to our house following the Church and it was a nice afternoon. We had been worried about the weather, but by noon the sun started to peek out and we ended up with a beautiful day. The food got rave reviews...the landscaping around house really showcased the talents of uncle Joey...and we just relaxed and enjoyed the company of friends and family. (Even Uncle Michael was able to fly home from the Phillipines for the baptism!)
Thank you to everyone for helping to make the day so special! We feel blessed in our lives to have such amazing friends and family. And of course, the most wonderful blessing of all - Cole and Thomas!!
P.S. If anyone has pictures of the day -- could you please email them to us? We were so busy, we didn't have a chance to take any photos. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The pool is open!!
This morning the pool company arrived to open it for the season. We were having breakfast when all of a sudden Cole caught sight of it over his shoulder.

Next week the child fence gets installed around the pool, so we're ready when these guys start to move. Let summer begin!!
I think he likes it!! We had to turn our highchairs around so they could both watch the action. They just opened their mouths as the oatmeal went in and just kept staring out the window. It was so funny! Here is Tommy's reaction...
Sippy Cups, Crazy Driver and a Rockstar!
Here are some pictures from yesterday. The boys are so funny...I love watching their little personalities emerge.

Tommy takes a break to say cheese!

Cole enjoying a leisurely bottle.

Tommy loves to drive...he is a madman!
I think the horn might be his favorite...he'd fit right in driving in Cairo!

Cole loves the drums...and keys...and guitar. Hmmm...aspiring rock star?
He stopped long enough here for the paparazzi to capture a shot. =)

Masters of the Sippy Cup!
The boys have really mastered the sippy cup! Cole is SO neat...and Tommy is SO messy. =) Here is a little video to showcase their new talent...enjoy!
