What next?

It's a snow day. So far we've colored, made play-doh pancakes and birthday cakes, colored on our chalk wall, played hide and seek with our animals, took all our animals on a train ride with Thomas, turned off all the lights in the basement and used our flashlights on an "animal safari/bug hunt", played our musical instruments (mommy was on tambourine), put together our new basketball hoop and played basketball, played stuffed animal basketball, took the box from the basketball hoop and filled it up with everything we could find and we're now having a snack. I just looked at the clock. It is 10:55am. How is that even POSSIBLE?!?!? I was certain it was at least time for lunch!

Okay, on to the next task...

"No Corners!" Cole

When it comes to eating, both of the boys have their own little hang-ups. Tommy doesn't like any of his food touching and he eats very slowly, taking his time with each bite. Cole is the complete opposite and can't seem to get the food in fast enough! Recently, he decided that he doesn't like corners. "No corners!! Yuck!!" Where do they learn that? Anyway, the good news is that Tommy will happily eat Cole's corners, so if one slips on Cole's plate, he just gives it to his brother.

Speaking of food, the boys are eating us out of house and home. I simply can not get OVER how much food these two can eat in one sitting! We're just finishing breakfast. After a bowl of cheerios, 2 waffles and a cup of blueberries...they are asking me for more. Where is it all going? Good thing we have a BJ's Wholesale membership. :) Time to start buying in bulk.

"The Bug Hunt"

Okay, so I know this post is a few days late, but I took so much video it had to be condensed.

As many of you know, I'm in the process of moving the boys into their new "big boy room". I just finished painting it blue and am now working on a mural. Anyway, over New Year's we had some overnight guests, so I set up the twin bed in there for "show" and ever since, the boys have LOVED playing in there. They call it the "BIG room". We still need to get another twin bed...but for now, the existing bed and couch provide plenty of space to play.

The other day (during what USED to be nap time) we were playing in there when Tommy heard something. This immediately turned into an imaginary "bug hunt" that literally lasted for over a half hour. Tommy is SO dramatic. I have no idea where he gets it from. :)

Cold temps call for the "hot pool"!!

Today it was freezing cold outside, so we decided it was the perfect day for a dip in the "hot pool" as the boys call it. When Kevin and I asked the boys if they wanted to go for a swim, they both got buck naked and were standing by the door to the spa room cheering in under a minute. I had to run and get into my bathing suit before they starting pounding down the door!

Tommy wasn't the least bit hesitant to jump in the hot tub with me. Cole kind of walked around for a few minutes testing the water with his hands before he finally ventured in. They were so cute...kicking their legs...playing with the bubbles and laughing. Tommy told me more than once, "Oh no! A bubble in my bum!" which Cole thought was hysterical.

After we got into our sweats and cuddled up on the couch with our blankies and watched "A Bug's Life" with some chocolate milk and pretzels (Cole's favorite!). They were so funny today. We just had so much fun playing, wrestling and giggling. It was the best afternoon with our favorite pals!

Ladies Man

Yesterday, we ran into my friend Lauren and her identical twin girls in the parking lot of town hall. We rolled down the windows so the kids could see each other. Our kids are the same age and play together once a week. Tommy (wearing his fire hat of course) leans out the window and says with a big grin, "Heeeey girls!" It was so funny!
