Summary of Hurricane Irene

Lights out!!  No worries...Tommy had his head lamp.

And Cole used the opportunity to tell us some scary ghost stories.

We spent a good portion of the day in the playroom down the basement.  The boys loved using their flashlights to find toys and play and we came up with some creative games.  Tommy of course is always good for a creative twist on things.

We had a visit from the utility crews...

Tried on some very small fire hats...

We played with Grant (and got him to sit up!), colored pictures, organized our toy room, read books, played with trucks...we were running out of things to do!  The rain was still coming down, but the wind had died down so we figured a little swim in the hot tub might do the trick before bedtime.

Overall, the boys had a GREAT day.  "Hurricanes are awesome mom!" Cole said.  lol  When you're 3...that's exactly what you should think.

New tricks!

Look at the new trick Grant showed off today!  He can sit up!!

Come on Irene!!

We're all in our pj's...just polished off some teddy bear pancakes and waiting the arrival of Hurricane Irene!

Speaking of pjs...see those pajamas Grant is wearing?  They are size 18 months!  He is our little string bean...all legs!

Let's hope the scene stays blissful here.  We're having a fun morning with only a few power outages so far.  Hope everyone stays safe in the storm!

Toothy grin!!

Amidst all the chaos that was July, Grant cut his first two teeth.  He was grumpy for a couple of days...then poof!  There they were.  He opened his mouth VERY wide when you pulled on his lower lip to see them.  So silly.

Now of course he is showing them off every chance he gets.  AND now that he has teeth he has found a new addiction -- puffs!  These little flavored wheat puffs for babies melt in their mouth and he is smitten.  He opens his mouth in a little O shape and waits if he hears the shake of the container.  By far, his favorite flavor is Apple Cinnamon.  I think he would skip dinner and just eat puffs if he could!  Oh...and he is getting used to the camera now.  Say cheese!
