Our boys are so lucky to be born Red Sox fans!

5 years ago....we may have thought differently. =) Now we are World Champions AGAIN...and ready for another great year. Just had to post this photo of Cole. So cute...

So far...so good!

Yesterday...Tommy just couldn't settle down for his naps with his new headgear. (Cole acts as if he has always had it.) But I am happy to report that today we're off to a great start! This picture was taken this morning just before breakfast...and as I type...both boys are fast asleep. What a difference a day makes!

The helmuts arrived early, so yesterday I brought the boys to have them fitted. I thought it was going to be traumatic, but the boys were totally unaffected. I got them home and they just played like they always do. Completely unaware that they were wearing them. I was so relieved!! All this build up and they acted like they've always had them on. =)

Today, they have to wear them for a couple of hours...tomorrow even longer and by Thursday they should be wearing them all day. We have about 6 weeks of them wearing the helmuts for 23 hours a day. Then 2 weeks of them only wearing them during naps and at bedtime. It will be over before we know it.

I think they look adorable. And of course, they'll look even better with their nice round symetrical heads! Football anyone?

6 months ago today...

6 months ago today...Kevin and I were sitting in our hospital room marveling at our two little men. It had been a long day for sure. The boys had some fluid in their lungs and both spent the next 30+ hours or so in the NICU. I was able to hobble down to see them and hold them both for the first time that night. It was amazing. I remember it SO vividly. Their sweet little faces looking up at me...it will be burned in my heart forever.

Back in our room, we watched Manny Ramieriz hit the home run that swept the Angels to take the Red Sox into the World Series. It seemed so perfect. The year we got engaged, the Sox won the World Series and broke the curse. Here we were....two years later....with two beautiful healthy twin boys. Win the World Series again?!? Why not? At this point anything was possible.

Now, 6 months later...we're sitting on our brand new couch that we got for FREE thanks to the Red Sox winning the World Championship. Cole and Tommy are rolling around on the floor and chattering away... talking a secret language that only they can understand. And Kevin and I are happier than we could have ever imagined possible.

Life is good.

So as you all know, we took the boys to get their passports. We had photos taken at the post office and when we got back the passports, the extra photos were included. Aren't they so funny? The one of Tommy is classic. =) File these under "Baby's First Mug Shot"
