Tommy and Cole are Identical!
Kevin and I decided to have the boys DNA tested after much debate. So many people had asked us if they were identical, that we were starting to question it ourselves. (Actually, there are times when even we confuse them! ) The boys had separate placentas which usually means that the twins are fraternal. However, there is a 30% chance that identical twins will actually have seperate placentas. For this to occur the egg has to split within the first 48 hours.
We had lots of bets placed with some pretty high stakes. Fancy dinners, assistance in painting rooms in our house - the works! Well after two weeks of waiting, the results came back positive!! The boys had no variations in their DNA -- meaning they are identical. The perfect match! Here was our Valentines Day announcement.

Home for the Holidays
We packed up all of our gear and headed to CT for the Thanksgiving holiday. It was Thomas and Cole's big debut and they were a hit! With all the extra sets of hands, Kevin and I were able to catch up on some much needed sleep. It was so relaxing! Here are some photos from our very first family trip.

The Mural
When Kevin and I first decided that we were "ready" for children, I set to work on creating a mural in the babies room. It was something that I've always wanted to do. The goal was to make something with lots of things to "spot" together. Of course, when I started the project, I thought there would only be ONE baby...and now that there are two, the mural is the backdrop for Cole's crib and mostly hidden from view. When you have two of everything - including two large cribs - rooms get small real fast. =)
Not sure if you can see it clearly here....but there are lots of things to "spot" -- animals, sea creatures, bugs, stars, clouds, a boat, plane and their very own rocket ship! I even painted little faces in the window looking out. It was a fun project...here are some pictures.
